En 1869-1870, plusieurs fontaines sont construites sur les plans de l'architecte Dodelier, dont une sur la place de l'église, constituée d'un bassin circulaire en pierre au centre duquel se dresse une pile en fonte ornée de dauphins, de putti, et couronnée par l'allégorie de l'agriculture. Cette dernière est remplacée en 1886 par la statue de Marianne, ornant auparavant une fontaine de 1849 puis vendue aux enchères en 1852. La statue représente une femme drapée à l'antique, couronnée d'épis de blé et de raisin, brandissant le triangle équilatéral de la main droite et tenant une main de justice de la gauche. Pour permettre l'érection du monument aux morts sur la place de l'église, la fontaine est déplacée après 1920 sur l'actuelle place de la Libération.

History
In 1869-1870, several fountains were constructed on the plans of the architect Dodelier, including one on the church square, consisting of a circular stone basin at the centre of which stands a pile in cast iron decorated with dolphins, putti, and crowned by the allegory of agriculture. This latter was replaced in 1886 by the statue of Marianne, formerly adorning a fountain of 1849 and then sold at auction in 1852. The statue represents a woman draped in the antique manner, crowned with ears of wheat and grapes, brandishing the equilateral triangle in her right hand and holding a sceptre of justice in her left. To allow the erection of the war memorial on the church square, the fountain was moved after 1920 to the present Place de la Libération.
