History
Fountains built between 1857 and 1860 according to the project of Christophe Colard, as part of water-supply works undertaken following the cholera epidemics of 1849 and 1854. Each comprises a semi-octagonal basin, a plinth from which water sprang, decorated with volutes, and crowned with a full-length statue (François Devosge, draughtsman, on the left; Jean-Baptiste Romé de l'Isle, naturalist, on the right) executed by Constant Grandgirard.
