L'hôtel a été construit à partir de 1716 sur les plans de l'architecte Tripard, par Florent Gauthier, apparailleur-architecte. Le bâtiment avait un plan en croix grecque, avec une chapelle au centre. Des bâtiments annexes ont été édifiés aux 18e et 19e siècles. En 1850, un grand corps de bâtiment destiné aux enfants est bâti selon les plans de Christophe Colard, et orné d'un fronton couronné de statues représentant la Foi et la Charité, oeuvres de Grandgirard. De 1862 à 1865, le décor de la chapelle est entièrement refait (tableaux muraux et décors peints par Joseph Constant Menissier et son fils Charles). History
The hotel was built from 1716 according to the plans of architect Tripard, by Florent Gauthier, stone-setter-architect. The building had a Greek cross plan, with a chapel at the centre. Ancillary buildings were erected in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1850, a large building for children is built according to the plans of Christophe Colard, and decorated with a pediment crowned with statues representing Faith and Charity, works by Grandgirard. From 1862 to 1865, the decoration of the chapel is entirely remade (mural paintings and painted decorations by Joseph Constant Menissier and his son Charles). The hotel subsequently underwent radical transformations which, while sparing the envelope of the 1850 building and the general layout of the old hospital, modified the massing, structure and interior arrangements.
