Pierre Poivre (1719-1786), botaniste et administrateur colonial est à l'origine de la création de ce jardin, sur les coteaux, en surplomb de la Saône. History
Pierre Poivre (1719-1786), botanist and colonial administrator, was at the origin of the creation of this garden, on the hillsides, overlooking the Saône. He acquired the land in 1758; the laying out of the garden began around 1760. It was composed of a formal garden, a clipped wood, and a Chinese garden.
