The arrival of a new population attracted by prosperous industries necessitates the construction of a new church. Erected from 1677 to 1681. In the 18th century, fittings are carried out by Perrache: architectural decoration, paving, parvis. Inside, the decoration is executed by Michel Perrache and Jean-Antoine Morand. In 1867, the architect Bellemain is charged with studying a project for alterations to the west façade. Revised by the architect Chomel, the project is executed in 1894. The edifice is in limestone from Couzon. The church is dominated by two bell tower towers recalling the two bell towers of Lyon town hall. The façade, unfinished in 1681, is completed by Chomel in 1894. The church consists of a single nave with three bays, with lateral chapels on each side. The choir comprises two bays each closed by a chapel and an apse. The nave is articulated by pilasters upon which rest the arches of a barrel vault with lunettes lit by tall windows. In 1724 and 1726, the artist Joseph Guillemain executes the woodwork of the apse. In 1729, Michel Perrache executes the panels framing the altar. Charles Dufraine sculpts the panels above the stalls. In 1755, Jean-Antoine Morand and Antoine-Michel Perrache execute a Calvary. In 1731, Michel Perrache executes the Virgin of the Assumption accompanied by musical angels. The paintings situated above the stalls are the work of Pierre-Joseph Le Mettais, around 1750. Stained glass executed by Lucien Bégule around 1890. Destroyed, they were able to be reconstructed by the master glazier Nicod and by Convert, and installed in 1933. Destroyed again in 1944, they were restored by the Lamy-Paillet establishments.
