Le théâtre a été édifié de 1873 à 1877 par Gaspard André. Reconstruit à l'identique après un incendie en 1881, il n'a guère subi de modifications et a conservé sa machinerie intacte (cintres, grils...). La grande salle à l'italienne a un plafond peint par J. Domer.

History
The theatre was built from 1873 to 1877 by Gaspard André. Rebuilt identically after a fire in 1881, it has scarcely undergone modifications and has retained its intact machinery (grids, grills...). The large Italian-style auditorium has a ceiling painted by J. Domer.
