Historique
Description

History
The archaeological site of "Finsterbach" was discovered on 29 March 1993, during pedestrian surveys directed by Pierre Pétrequin, researcher at the CNRS. This discovery was made in the context of research conducted as part of the collective research project, entitled "from stone to polished axe", between 1990 and 1994.
Description
The site located in a wooded sector at the level of the cadastral plot 48 opens at an average altitude of 775m in a sector of steep slope. It comprises several zones that define a large area of open-air working and waste accumulation, resulting from the production of large thick blades intended to be transformed into polished axes and adzes on more or less nearby settlement sites.
