Monument érigé en 1924 par le sculpteur Geiss, à la mémoire des morts de la Première Guerre mondiale et pour témoigner du fidèle attachement de l'Alsace et de la Lorraine à la France entre 1870 et 1918. Monument laissé dans son état de 1944 après les combats de décembre 1944 et janvier 1945 qui ont complètement détruit Bennwihr. History
Monument erected in 1924 by the sculptor Geiss, in memory of the dead of the First World War and to testify to the faithful attachment of Alsace and Lorraine to France between 1870 and 1918. Monument left in its state of 1944 after the fighting of December 1944 and January 1945 which completely destroyed Bennwihr. The two regions are symbolised by two women wearing traditional costume.
