La Cité Paysanne résulte de la mise en place, en 1941, d'une vaste politique de germanisation. Son objectif vise la réorganisation sociale de la communauté rurale. La Cité Paysanne est une combinaison de principes fonctionnalistes, hygiénistes et régionalistes. History
The Cité Paysanne results from the implementation, in 1941, of a vast policy of Germanization. Its objective aims at the social reorganization of the rural community. The Cité Paysanne is a combination of functionalist, hygienic and regionalist principles. The district comprises three types of building: the first two present themselves as agricultural holdings while the third type, consisting of block houses, is intended to accommodate under the same roof the dwelling and the agricultural outbuilding. Other installations were constructed in the commune as evidenced by the Siedlung, a temporary settlement of sixty wooden barracks where community life proper took place. Currently, only two buildings of this settlement survive.
