Peut-être édifiée en 1448 comme semblerait l'indiquer une inscription encastrée dans la façade, l'ancien hôpital se signale surtout par son comble impressionnant et sa volumétrie. Il abritait une immense salle des malades haute de plus de cinq mètres dont les supports monumentaux subsistent, partiellement masqués. Par la suite, le bâtiment a servi d'abattoir et de maison du sel jusqu'en 1791. D'importants travaux y ont été effectué au 18e siècle, dont la suppression du clocheton qui abritait la Spitalglocke.

History
Very emblematic house in the town. Perhaps built in 1448 as would seem to be indicated by an inscription set into the façade, the old hospital is distinguished especially by its impressive roof space and its volumetry. It housed an immense sick ward more than five metres high whose monumental supports subsist, partially masked. Subsequently, the building served as a slaughterhouse and salt house until 1791. Important works were carried out there in the 18th century, including the removal of the small bell tower which housed the Spitalglocke.
