L'immeuble du 27, rue des Usines porte la date de 1582 sur la voussure de la porte de la cave. Dans le comble de la maison subsistent les vestiges de l'aménagement d'une synagogue datable de 1722-1723 avec des cloisons en pan de bois peintes sur enduit. Le décor comporte des textes rituels en hébreu, des motifs figuratifs rarement représentés évoquant une fête juive et des motifs floraux. Il s'agit de la seule synagogue à peintures murales en Alsace.

History
The building at 27, rue des Usines bears the date 1582 on the voussure of the cellar door. In the roof space of the house subsist the remains of the fitting-out of a synagogue datable to 1722-1723 with timber-framed partitions painted on render. The décor comprises ritual texts in Hebrew, figurative motifs rarely represented evoking a Jewish celebration and floral motifs. It is the only synagogue with mural paintings in Alsace.
