Historique
La seigneurie de Cassaber est mentionnée depuis le 15e siècle. Elle est achetée en 1612 par Zacharie de Laffite, noble protestant, qui fait construire l'édifice actuel, terminé en 1643. History
The seigneury of Cassaber is mentioned from the 15th century onwards. It was purchased in 1612 by Zacharie de Laffite, a noble Protestant, who had the present building constructed, completed in 1643. The original L-shaped building, consisting of a north wing and an east wing perpendicular to the former, was later enlarged to the east with a new main dwelling, then in the 19th century with a pavilion housing the outhouses. The majority of the openings date from the 17th century, such as the door under a finial topped with ball ornaments. Inside, several rooms retain decoration from the 17th century or remodelled in the 18th. On the south side, substantial outbuildings attest that the former lay abbey once directed a vast agricultural estate.
