History
This former secular abbey of Sévignacq, currently designated by the name Château d'Etigny, is inseparable from the adjoining church of Saint-Pierre. Dating from the beginning of the 17th century, this former secular abbey, remodelled in the 19th century, is built against the church and comprises two dwelling blocks flanked by pavilions, a former garden enclosed by walls, various outbuildings and a wooded park. The château and park, built on a hillock, presumably occupy the site of a former castera overlooking the Ossau valley.
