En 1805, la municipalité d'Issoire décide la construction d'une halle aux blés, la commune étant située dans une riche région agricole. Elle fait appel à l'architecte, Pierre Rousseau, qui conçoit un édifice de style néo-classique. Après sa construction , la halle accueille les producteurs de céréales, légumes secs et pommes de terre. Délaissée après la Première Guerre mondiale, elle est transformée en 1949 en salle des fêtes, ses ouvertures occultées par des parpaings. Des travaux réalisés en 1997 par l'architecte Philippe Roussel pour en faire une maison de la culture, permettent de dégager les ouvertures et de les clore par des menuiseries métalliques.

History
In 1805, the municipality of Issoire decided on the construction of a grain hall, the commune being situated in a rich agricultural region. It called upon the architect Pierre Rousseau, who designed a building in neo-classical style. After its construction, the hall received producers of cereals, dried vegetables and potatoes. Abandoned after the First World War, it was transformed in 1949 into a hall of festivities, its openings obscured by concrete blocks.
