Historique
Construite dans les années 1880, la demeure se compose de trois corps de bâtiments. Les élévations visibles de la rue sont réalisées en brique beige et ocre au-dessus dun soubassement en grès et pierre de Volvic. La villa, de taille moyenne, affiche une apparence bourgeoise , à la structure classique et marquée dinfluences diverses. Ainsi, des détails darchitecture et dornementation sont clairement dinspiration néo-gothiques : voûte dogives du porche dentrée, avant-corps polygonal formant tourelle, colonnettes à petits chapiteaux des baies, balustrade avec sa chimère sculptée en terrasse. Ces dispositions architecturales et décoratives correspondent au courant historiciste en vogue à la fin du 19e siècle et bien représenté en Auvergne dans les villes thermales et, dans une moindre mesure, à Clermont-Ferrand.

History
Built in the 1880s, the residence comprises three blocks of buildings. The elevations visible from the street are constructed in beige and ochre brick above a base of sandstone and Volvic stone. The villa, of medium size, displays a bourgeois appearance with a classical structure marked by diverse influences. Thus, details of architecture and ornamentation are clearly of neo-Gothic inspiration: rib vault of the entrance porch, polygonal projecting body forming a turret, small columns with small capitals of the openings, balustrade with its sculpted chimera on the terrace. These architectural and decorative arrangements correspond to the historicist current in vogue at the end of the 19th century and well represented in Auvergne in the spa towns and, to a lesser extent, in Clermont-Ferrand.
