History
The church, which depended on a priory of La Chaise-Dieu founded in 1052, was probably built in the early 12th century and has preserved elements of polychrome stone decoration from the Romanesque period. It was altered in the 17th (choir), 18th (bell tower) and 19th centuries (dome concealed by a false ceiling). This single-nave building presents a western façade characteristic of Auvergnat Romanesque art with its sawtooth and polychrome lozenge coursing. In the north buttress, between the two bays of the nave, is set into the wall a square carved stone, which appears to be a chancel slab.
