Il s'agit d'un groupe sculpté, posé sur un socle, appelé «Reconnaissance» et composé d'une victoire ailée embrassant sur le front un Poilu ainsi que d'une stèle. Celle-ci est sommée des armes de la ville et porte, inscrits, les 108 noms des enfants de Montreuil morts pour la patrie. Le monument, entouré d'une grille, fut inauguré en 1921. En 1951, furent ajoutés les noms des morts de la Seconde Guerre ainsi que ceux de la guerre d'Indochine.

History
This is a sculptured group, placed on a plinth, called 'Recognition' and composed of a winged victory embracing on the forehead a soldier as well as a stele. This is topped by the arms of the town and bears, inscribed, the 108 names of the children of Montreuil who died for the fatherland. The monument, surrounded by a railing, was inaugurated in 1921. In 1951, the names of those who died in the Second World War as well as those of the Indochina War were added.
