Historique
Le puits n°1 fut foncé en 1858 et la production débuta en 1860. Le puits n°5 devint le 1bis, foncé en 1874, et servit de seconde issue à la surface et à mettre les travaux dans de bonnes conditions d'aérage à cause d'une présence forte du grisou. En 1867, la fosse fut reliée à la gare de Lens par voie ferrée. En 1902, un puits d'aérage 1ter fut percé. Les installations de surface, complètement détruites au cours de la Première guerre, furent reconstruites à partir de 1922. En 1959, une station de dégazage fut installée contre le grisou. Le puits n°1 fut remblayé en 1966. Les deux puits 1bis et 1ter furent remblayés en 1979 et le chevalement du n°1 abattu en 1977.

History
Well no. 1 was sunk in 1858 and production began in 1860. Well no. 5 became 1bis, sunk in 1874, and served as a second exit to the surface and to put the workings in good conditions of ventilation because of a strong presence of firedamp. In 1867, the pit was connected to Lens railway station by rail. In 1902, a ventilation shaft 1ter was bored. The surface installations, completely destroyed during the First World War, were rebuilt from 1922 onwards. In 1959, a degassing station was installed against firedamp. Well no. 1 was filled in 1966. The two shafts 1bis and 1ter were filled in 1979 and the headframe of no. 1 was demolished in 1977.
