History
In 1885, the merger of Calais with Saint-Pierre-de-Calais led to the construction of a new town hall. The project was entrusted to architect Debrouwer who favoured a concrete structure. Work extended from 1911 to 1923. The decorations were carried out in 1924 and 1925. The edifice in red brick is of Neo-Renaissance Flemish inspiration. A belfry of 72 metres dominates it.
