History
Construction erected on a medieval base. Its typology, notably the square storeys corbelled out on lintels, dates it to the end of the 15th century, or even earlier according to the typology of the groin-vaulted cellar, and its present state is perhaps the result of the regrouping of several earlier buildings. The passages under jetties were doubtless closed in the 17th century, resulting in their present aspect. It is an emblematic building of the civil architecture of Alençon, with timber framing and gable on street.
