Forteresse huguenote érigée au 16e siècle et réaménagée au 17e siècle, à partir de l'enceinte médiévale du 14e siècle. L'enceinte de forme quadrilatère, est constituée de murs avec parapets couvrant un chemin de ronde, et de quatre tours d'angle ayant perdu leur toiture. Un pont dormant de bois perce la courtine. La poterne est une construction qui peut être attribuée à François Gabriel, maître maçon à Argentan. S'y remarque l'alternance de matériaux avec un jeu de polychromie, les harpes, le bossage soulignant la forme cintrée et le fronton brisé. Huguenot fortress erected in the 16th century and remodelled in the 17th century, based on the medieval enclosure of the 14th century.
