Cet hôtel a été construit en 1537 pour Laurent de Boves, receveur des domaines du Valois. La cour comporte une tourelle à pans coupés contenant un escalier à vis, dont l'entrée est richement ornée. Cet hôtel fut acquis en 1676 par le sieur de La Granche, conseiller du roi, président au siège présidial de Crépy et resta dans cette famille jusqu'à la Révolution. History
This hôtel was built in 1537 for Laurent de Boves, receiver of the domains of Valois. The courtyard comprises a tower with cut angles containing a spiral staircase, whose entrance is richly ornamented. This hôtel was acquired in 1676 by the sieur de La Granche, counsellor to the king, president of the presidal seat of Crépy and remained in this family until the Revolution. As it has come down to us, with its openings or modified bays in the 17th and 18th centuries, with its barrel-vaulted cellars from the 14th century and its polygonal stair tower, the hôtel de la Rose remains a most interesting testament to the time when Crépy was capital of Valois and seat of an important artistic centre influenced by the Italian Renaissance.
