Historique
Le quai des déportés, entre 1942 et 1944, vit partir 52 convois de déportés de la gare de Compiègne, située sur le territoire de la commune de Margny-lès-Compiègne. Venant des anciennes casernes de Royallieu, transformées en camp d'internement (Frontstalag 122) , les déportés, juifs et prisonniers politiques, traversaient la ville de Compiègne par la rue de Paris en direction de la gare avant d'être envoyés à Dachau, Buchenwald, Auschwitz, Neuengamme, ... Un monument commémoratif en mémoire des déportés a été élevé en gare de Compiègne en 1959. Compiègne fut le premier centre de déportation des prisonniers politiques (près de 50 000 sur les 139 000 déportés français).

The Quai des Déportés, between 1942 and 1944, saw 52 convoys of deportees depart from Compiègne station, situated on the territory of the commune of Margny-lès-Compiègne.
