Historique
La Société des Forges de la Providence fait appel à larchitecte suisse roman Denis Honegger, élève dAuguste Perret, pour la construction dun quartier dhabitation pour loger les ouvriers. Le programme comprend des logements et une chapelle. Cette chapelle est dédiée à saint Eloi, patron des métallurgistes. Elle est réalisée de 1958 à 1960. Le bâtiment comporte un lieu de culte de plan rectangulaire et un ensemble de salles paroissiales qui présente une façade en arc de cercle sur la rue. Le programme ambitieux na pas bénéficié de moyens financiers suffisants pour garantir la qualité de sa réalisation. La sobriété dont elle fait preuve met toutefois en valeur le cycle de vitraux retraçant la vie de saint Eloi réalisés en dalle de verre par Emilio Beretta et Auguste Labouret.

History
The Providence Ironworks Company called upon Swiss architect Roman Denis Honegger, a pupil of Auguste Perret, for the construction of a residential district to house the workers.
