Historique
La construction de l'hôtel de ville s'inscrit dans le plan d'urbanisation imposé par la loi du 14 mars 1919 et pose alors de nombreux problèmes (construction d'un nouveau bâtiment, emplacement au sein de la cité, choix d'un projet pouvant s'inscrire dans un plan d'urbanisation et d'embellissement imposé par cette loi). Le chantier est confié à l'architecte Emile Dubuisson qui utilise la brique traditionnelle sur une armature de béton, et l'associe aux carreaux émaillés. Le beffroi est rejeté à l'extrémité de la façade principale. Les services administratifs destinés au public se situent au rez-de-chaussée. Les services municipaux se trouvent dans les étages. History
