Au début des années 1960, Christian Sterckeman, fabricant de caravanes, rencontre Paul Chemetov, qui avait déjà conçu pour lui des locaux et magasins à Seclin. L'aspect extérieur est rude, mais l'intérieur est rendu plus chaleureux par la coloration des matériaux selon l'usage des pièces. Les espaces sont modulables.

History
In the early 1960s, Christian Sterckeman, a caravan manufacturer, met Paul Chemetov, who had already designed premises and shops for him in Seclin. The idea was to imagine a house that could be built in series, very inexpensive to be accessible to the same clientele as that of caravans. The location is in the middle of fields and the construction is in raw industrial materials (concrete blocks, steel, concrete), in the spirit of Jean Prouvé's research, and able to serve as a commercial model. The house comprises a single level of square plan, organized around a central core grouping the services.
