Illustrant parfaitement le type du château d'industriel, cet immeuble mêle simultanément la recherche architecturale de l'architecte Auguste Dupire-Rozan à l'aménagement du parc de Georges Aumont, à qui l'on doit également le Parc Barbieux à Roubaix et celui de la Préfecture de Lille. Between courtyard and garden with stables in the courtyard, this hôtel particulier was built by Pierre Catteau around 1880-1884 on one of the city's major thoroughfares. Both a politician and industrialist, Pierre Catteau had created in 1845, at Roubaix, a poplin and wool fabric manufacturing business.
