Historique

History
Originally, this small fortified house was built in the 14th century in order to protect an agricultural estate. It was modified in the 16th century and then became, in the 17th century, the property of the Calvinist Louis de Blosset. The château comprises a main dwelling covered with a steeply pitched roof and flanked by two round towers and a staircase turret. Two Ionic order pilasters frame the openings situated to the left of the turret. The north façade presents several narrow openings as well as a large moulded opening. One also notes the presence of machicolations concealed by the roof of the dwelling. A round arch door opens the staircase turret, pierced with gun-ports. This door is framed by pilasters with bevelled rustication supporting a moulded entablature. The round towers are crowned with conical tile roofs. Agricultural buildings as well as stables complete the ensemble. The interior décors of the 16th and 17th centuries were partially looted in the 1990s and 2000s.
