History
The church was built jointly by Claude Parent and Maurice Virilio in 1964-1965. It consists of two reinforced concrete shells that interlock, evoking the grotto of Lourdes. The plan and elevation of the sanctuary have no precedent in the history of 20th-century religious architecture. The furnishings are by Morice Lipsi and the stained glass by Odette Ducarré.
