Historique
Petite synagogue rurale élevée sur les plans de l'architecte Ferdinand Boudot entre 1868 et 1872. Inaugurée en 1872, elle semble avoir été fermée au culte dès 1890. La façade principale est ornée d'une petite rosace. Le portail classique comporte une inscription en hébreu. L'intérieur a conservé une monumentale arche sainte de style classique. Il s'agit d'une structure en grès et bois, peinte en faux marbre, pilastres surmontés de chapiteaux ioniques, entablement et fronton cintré. Il ne reste rien de l'estrade de lecture. La tribune réservée aux femmes est encore en place. Cette synagogue constitue le dernier vestige d'une longue présence juive dans le canton de Vic-sur-Seille. Il s'agit d'un des seuls endroits en Lorraine où une présence juive continue ait pu se maintenir après les expulsions du 14e siècle.

History
Small rural synagogue built according to the plans of architect Ferdinand Boudot between 1868 and 1872. Inaugurated in 1872, it appears to have been closed to worship from 1890 onwards. The main facade is decorated with a small rose window. The classical portal bears an inscription in Hebrew. The interior has retained a monumental holy ark of classical style. It is a structure in sandstone and wood, painted with faux marble, pilasters topped with Ionic capitals, entablature and curved pediment. Nothing remains of the reading platform. The gallery reserved for women is still in place. This synagogue constitutes the last vestige of a long Jewish presence in the canton of Vic-sur-Seille. It is one of the only places in Lorraine where a continuous Jewish presence was able to be maintained after the expulsions of the 14th century.
