History
Salt works established around an ancient salt well of medieval origin protected by a fortified enclosure reinforced in the 16th century and enlarged after 1765. The salt works was a small town with chapel, communal oven, press, exploitation premises and barracks. The oldest parts date from the middle of the 18th century and the first quarter of the 19th century.
