Seule une partie de ce tertre qui masque aujourd'hui ces vestiges a été fouillée. Il est difficile de préciser la nature exacte de la construction. Si la mise au jour de plusieurs pièces, d'une porte, de sols en terre battue et en mortier évoque la présence d'une villa gallo-romaine, la découverte d'un autel et d'une statue de femme stylisée suggère également la présence d'un lieu de culte.

History
The whole occupies a square space of approximately 30 metres on each side for 1.20 metres elevation. The great majority of the mound preserving the ruins has not been disturbed. Only a part of this mound which today masks these remains has been excavated. It is difficult to specify the exact nature of the construction. If the uncovering of several rooms, a door, floors of rammed earth and mortar suggest the presence of a Gallo-Roman villa, the discovery of an altar and a stylized female statue also suggest the presence of a place of worship.
