La tour autrefois dite de Penerf, dénommée tour des Anglais depuis 1910, est un ouvrage construit probablement au 16e siècle, en tout cas attesté en 1692. A la fois tour à feux et tour de guet, elle faisait partie jusqu'au début du 19e siècle d'un ensemble militaire comprenant également deux batteries et divers ouvrages. C'est une tour cylindrique de 15 m de haut, construite en moellons enduits, comprenant un soubassement protégé par un contre-mur construit en grand appareil, une base en tronc de cône et une partie supérieure de trois niveaux. Un parapet repose sur des mâchicoulis en console. C'est un des rares vestiges de la défense des côtes de la région.

History
The tower formerly called Penerf, named the Anglais Tower since 1910, is an edifice constructed probably in the 16th century, in any case attested in 1692. At once a fire tower and watchtower, it formed part until the beginning of the 19th century of a military complex also comprising two batteries and various works. It is a cylindrical tower 15 m high, constructed in render rubble stone, comprising a base protected by a counter-wall constructed in large ashlar, a truncated-cone base and an upper section of three levels. A parapet rests on machicolations in corbel. It is one of the rare remains of the coastal defence of the region.
