The Wn.123 is located on the coast between the Gatteville lighthouse and the village of Barfleur. The date of completion of the work is unknown. The Heeres-Küsten-Batterie 7./1261 ex H.K.B.282 Gatteville came into being from April 1943 onwards; it is therefore plausible that this protective rampart for this battery may have been built at the same time.
