S'appuyant sur le site d'une implantation ancienne, la construction d'un château neuf à la fin du XVIIIe siècle est guidée par une recherche de sobriété architecturale et d'une situation paysagère privilégiée, propice à une contemplation romantique. History
Building on the site of an ancient establishment, the construction of a new castle at the end of the 18th century was guided by a pursuit of architectural sobriety and a privileged landscape situation, conducive to romantic contemplation. If the English-style park could have been partly laid out between 1830 and 1840, its current layout results from a later creation, attributable to Georges Genreau under the Third Republic. Inspired by contemporary creations, this influential politician, passionate about botany, remodeled the park into a sophisticated composition with English river, cascades, rockeries and artificial follies and equipped it with an ingenious hydraulic system.
