L'immeuble au 36 place de l'église est une maison de ville, transformée dans les années 1930 en hospice. Dès juin 1940, Sainte-Marie-du-Mont est occupée par les forces allemandes et l'hospice réquisitionné. History
The building at 36 place de l'église is a town house, transformed in the 1930s into a hospice. From June 1940, Sainte-Marie-du-Mont was occupied by German forces and the hospice requisitioned. On the evening of the liberation of the commune, 6 June 1944, the building was transformed into a general headquarters by the Allies. This building contains remarkable testimony to its successive use by German, then American, soldiers, and as such represents a coherent collection of Second World War remains preserved in situ.
