Pour la reconstruction de léglise de la commune, larchitecte Guy Pison avait présenté en 1952 un projet dune facture moderne, assez proche de léglise de Graignes. Mais devant lopposition du curé qui ne voulait pas de ce « silo », cest un tout autre projet qui est réalisé, par larchitecte Belin originaire de Saint-Lô. Le permis de construire est déposé en 1959 et léglise est achevée en 1962. Lédifice est composé dun vaisseau rectangulaire à portique triangulé venant recevoir un comble à deux versants, tandis quun clocher latéral est surmonté dune flèche, le tout réalisé en granit apparent. Les verrières conçues par François Chapuis et réalisées par Gouffault en 1967 constituent lintérêt principal de léglise et la raison de sa protection. Le programme des verrières est fondé sur lopposition entre les verrières colorées au nord, et les verrières monochromes au sud. Ces dernières sont dynamisées par un réseau très graphique de plombs. Les baies nord évoluent vers lorient depuis des teintes froides vers des tons plus chauds qui culminent au niveau du sanctuaire.

History
For the reconstruction of the church of the commune, the architect Guy Pison had presented in 1952 a project of modern design, quite close to the church of Graignes. But faced with the opposition of the priest who did not want this "silo", a completely different project was carried out, by the architect Belin from Saint-Lô. The building permit was filed in 1959 and the church was completed in 1962. The building is composed of a rectangular vessel with a triangulated portico receiving a roof with two slopes, while a lateral bell tower is topped with a spire, all realised in exposed granite. The stained glass windows designed by François Chapuis and realised by Gouffault in 1967 constitute the main interest of the church and the reason for its protection. The programme of the stained glass windows is based on the opposition between coloured stained glass to the north, and monochrome stained glass to the south. The latter are enlivened by a very graphic network of leadwork. The north openings evolve towards the east from cool hues towards warmer tones which culminate at the level of the sanctuary.
