Chargé de dresser le plan de reconstruction du village de Graignes, Guy Pison est également désigné pour la construction dune nouvelle église déplacée, comme lensemble du bourg, au sud de lancien village dont le clocher subsistant de léglise précédente a été érigé en mémorial du souvenir. Placée délibérément sous les auspices de la modernité triomphante, léglise, entièrement construite en béton armé de 1956 à 1960, sinscrit dans un plan longitudinal dont le vaisseau central est rythmé par une série de portiques. La structure laissée apparente arbore différents traitements du béton : banché, bouchardé, lavé, etc. Les dalles de verre de François Chapuis, alternant tonalités chaudes et tonalités translucides, créent un contraste avec le ton monochrome du béton armé.

History
Tasked with drawing up the plan for the reconstruction of the village of Graignes, Guy Pison was also appointed for the construction of a new church relocated, like the entire borough, to the south of the former village, whose surviving bell tower from the previous church has been erected as a memorial. Deliberately placed under the auspices of triumphant modernity, the church, entirely built in reinforced concrete from 1956 to 1960, follows a longitudinal plan whose central nave is punctuated by a series of porticos.
