Various sources allow us to trace the rising power of the factory, from the beginning of the 19th century until 1868, the date of its peak, then its decline and closure. Indeed, the scarcity of ore rich in silver, the fall in silver prices as well as the floods of 1890 precipitated the decay of the factory which closed in 1894. Today, all the machinery has disappeared as well as the roofs. However, there still remain the departure of the arches carrying the roof of the foundry and the round arch vault of the stream channelling as well as sections of buildings. The most remarkable and best-preserved construction is the condensation chimney, to the east. It is supported by round arches, built in schist and rubble stone.
