Edifice d'origine médiévale occupant un site d'éperon barré. Le château originel, du 14e siècle, est composé d'un donjon et d'un logis en L dont certains murs ont conservé des créneaux murés. L'ensemble a été englobé au 16e siècle dans une seconde enceinte dont le plan en U se referme sur un fossé sec de la même époque. Le donjon perdit ses deux derniers étages à la Révolution. Par la suite, le château avec ses communs fut transformé en domaine agricole mais périclita après la crise du phylloxéra. Transformé en préventorium puis en centre de détention.

History
A structure of medieval origin occupying a barred spur site. The original castle, from the 14th century, is composed of a keep and a dwelling in L-shape of which certain walls have retained walled crenellations. The whole was incorporated in the 16th century into a second enclosure whose U-shaped plan closes over a dry moat of the same period. The keep lost its last two storeys at the Revolution. Subsequently, the castle with its outbuildings was transformed into an agricultural estate but declined after the phylloxera crisis. Transformed into a preventorium then into a detention centre.
