Historique
Cet immeuble est l'oeuvre de l'architecte Benoît Lebrun, figure de l'époque révolutionnaire. Bâti en 1794, sur l'emplacement du couvent des Grands Carmes, il est l'unique rescapé d'un ensemble de sept entités aux façades identiques, constituant une sorte d'îlot. L'édifice, tel qu'il se présente actuellement, conserve les dispositions d'origine, sous un enduit recouvrant les trois niveaux supérieurs. Des jambages encadrent les baies des niveaux supérieurs et l'adjonction d'un trumeau séparant deux portes modernes scinde en deux parties une des deux grandes baies du rez-de-chaussée, occupé par un bureau commercial. Cet espace conserve un escalier droit à balustres, en bois. Les planchers et la charpente, toujours en place, sont également d'origine.

History
This building is the work of architect Benoît Lebrun, a figure of the revolutionary period. Built in 1794, on the site of the convent of the Grands Carmes, it is the sole survivor of a set of seven entities with identical facades, constituting a sort of block. The building, as it presents itself currently, preserves the original arrangements, under render covering the three upper levels. Jambs frame the openings of the upper levels and the addition of a mullion separating two modern doors divides into two parts one of the two large openings of the ground floor, occupied by a commercial office. This space retains a straight staircase with balusters, in wood. The floors and the roof structure, still in place, are also original.
