At the beginning of the 19th century, aisles and an Italian-style bell tower were added. The restoration-reconstruction of the building, from 1885 to 1888, conducted by René Ménard, adopts the model of Roman basilicas with a campanile enriched with façade sculptures and neo-Renaissance stained glass by Champigneulles.
