Le monument fut réalisé par Robert Wlérick, en 1922. Il est composé dune stèle plate sur laquelle sappuie une statue représentant une veuve et sa fille. La veuve porte le voile traditionnel. De chaque côté, un bas-relief figure deux profils de poilus, un jeune et un vieux.

History
The monument was created by Robert Wlérick in 1922. It comprises a flat stele against which leans a statue representing a widow and her daughter. The widow wears traditional veiling. On each side, a bas-relief depicts two profiles of poilus, one young and one old.
