La chapelle de la Rixouse fut érigée en église succursale au 14ème siècle. Des traces évidentes témoignent d'une première campagne de reconstruction au 15ème siècle. Cependant, c'est au début du 17ème siècle qu'une série de travaux modifièrent l'édifice en profondeur ainsi qu'en témoignent trois inscriptions commémoratives: 1629, 1635 et 1647. Au 18ème siècle, l'église fut à nouveau agrandie. C'est à cette même période qu'elle reçut ses décors muraux, de belle facture. Cet édifice, de tradition méridionale, est remarquable du point de vue épigraphique comme l'attestent les nombreuses dédicaces et armoiries conservées dans l'église.

History
The chapel of La Rixouse was erected as a subsidiary church in the 14th century. Clear traces attest to a first campaign of reconstruction in the 15th century. However, it was in the early 17th century that a series of works profoundly modified the building as evidenced by three commemorative inscriptions: 1629, 1635 and 1647. In the 18th century, the church was again enlarged. It was during this same period that it received its wall decorations, of fine craftsmanship. This building, of southern tradition, is remarkable from the epigraphic point of view as attested by the numerous dedications and coats of arms preserved in the church.
