History
In the early 19th century, permission for grouping for cheese manufacture led to a wave of establishment of cheese cooperatives often accompanied by buildings intended for manufacture, called fruitière or chalet. The Coin d'Aval chalet was built in 1824. It ceased operations in 1906 with the merger of the small cooperatives to form one per village, with construction of a larger chalet.
