Installation of the Carmelites in Salins in 1625. Church blessed in 1627. After destruction of the convent in 1674, reconstruction and consecration of the new church in 1680. Few transformations in the 18th century. The river La Furieuse separates the ensemble of church-convent buildings from the enclosed land. At the Revolution, ensemble sold to private individuals, but the church was quickly returned to worship (1808). It retains its original form (simple nave with barrel vault, shallow transepts, flat chevet). Only a bell tower was constructed in 1829. The convent buildings, belonging to private owners, were transformed into a "villa" by Besançon architect Alfred Ducat between 1881 and 1893. Ducat also designed an English-style park in the enclosed land, as well as an orchard to the east.
