On se trouve dans un site important de l'archéologie jurassienne et Sézéria était le centre d'une ancienne paroisse qui comprenait aussi Chavéria, Chatagna et Moutonne. L'église actuelle ne serait pas antérieure au 15e siècle ; elle a été modifiée au 17e siècle et restaurée au 19e siècle. Dans le cimetière clos de murs, orientée, basse et allongée l'église présente un fort massif occidental composé du clocher-porche (portail "1662") , de l'ancien presbytère-école (fin 18e siècle) et d'une chapelle à baie flamboyante. La nef à vaisseau unique était couverte d'une voûte en berceau brisé sur doubleaux qui s'est totalement effondrée vers 1965. La travée du choeur conserve son voûtement ; la sacristie (fin 18e siècle) lui est adossée. L'église de Sézéria appartient à la série des églises jurassiennes de "persistance romane", à vaisseau unique, basses et allongées, couvertes en laves. Sa situation à l'écart et son état de ruine lui confèrent un attrait particulier.

History
One finds oneself in an important site of Jurassian archaeology and Sézéria was the centre of an ancient parish which also comprised Chavéria, Chatagna and Moutonne. The present church is not earlier than the 15th century; it was modified in the 17th century and restored in the 19th century. In the cemetery enclosed by walls, oriented, low and elongated, the church presents a strong western mass composed of the porch tower (portal "1662"), the former presbytery-school (late 18th century) and a chapel with a flamboyant opening. The nave with a single vessel was covered with a broken barrel vault on double ribs which completely collapsed around 1965. The bay of the choir retains its vaulting; the sacristy (late 18th century) is adjoined to it. The church of Sézéria belongs to the series of Jurassian churches of "Romanesque persistence", with a single vessel, low and elongated, covered with stone slates. Its situation set apart and its state of ruin confer a particular attraction upon it.
