La rue Lafayette, construite au 18e siècle, a toujours connu une forte activité commerciale. D'une famille de commerçants et banquiers, l'homme d'affaires Jean-François Baille s'y installe en construisant vers 1832 un immeuble locatif avec commerces. L'édifice, dont la façade Restauration est soignée, présente sur cour une superposition de quatre galeries de distribution à arcades, desservies par un escalier en pierre à cage ouverte. Le second corps de bâtiment établi sur un cellier voûté a une forme de maison. Il donne, par un balcon couvert, sur un petit jardin.

History
Lafayette Street, built in the 18th century, has always known strong commercial activity. From a family of merchants and bankers, businessman Jean-François Baille establishes himself there by building around 1832 a rental building with shops. The building, whose Restoration façade is carefully finished, presents on the courtyard side a superimposition of four distribution galleries with arcades, served by a stone staircase with open cage. The second building body established on a vaulted cellar has the form of a house. It opens, by a covered balcony, onto a small garden.
