Historique
Le prieuré dépendait de l'abbaye bénédictine de Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. Mentionné pour la première fois en 1226. Le domaine, comprenant l'église, le logis prieural, des granges et étables, des bois et un moulin, fut vendu comme bien national en 1791. Les constructions furent affectées à un usage agricole, hormis l'église qui continua d'être fréquentée pour les dévotions à Saint-Marin. Du prieuré subsistent aujourd'hui l'église et le logis. Eglise de plan cruciforme, à nef à vaisseau unique se prolongeant par un transept saillant. Une tourelle carrée renfermait peut-être l'escalier desservant les combles.

History
The priory was dependent on the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. First mentioned in 1226. The estate, comprising the church, the prior's dwelling, barns and stables, woodland and a mill, was sold as national property in 1791. The buildings were put to agricultural use, except for the church which continued to be frequented for devotions to Saint-Marin. From the priory there remain today the church and the dwelling. Church of cruciform plan, with a nave of single vessel continuing in a projecting transept. A small square turret may have housed the staircase serving the roof space.
