La demeure du Tertre Corbin est construite au tout début du 18e siècle dans le prolongement d'une petite maison du siècle précédent qui servait de pied-à-terre à un marchand de toiles de Saint-Thélo. Son commanditaire est un maître-orfèvre et banquier de Saint-Malo, qui la cède quelques années plus tard à un marin corsaire devenu armateur, Robert Surcouf de Maisonneuve. Elle passe ensuite entre plusieurs mains, jusqu'à son acquisition il y a une quinzaine d'années par ses propriétaires actuels. Cette ancienne maison de villégiature campagnarde s'apparente aux malouinières dont elle possède certains caractères récurrents, sans pour autant adopter la régularité de plan et l'ordonnancement des façades qui s'imposeront bientôt dans ce corpus d'édifices.

History
The dwelling of Tertre Corbin is built at the very beginning of the 18th century in the extension of a small house from the previous century which served as a pied-à-terre for a linen merchant from Saint-Thélo. Its patron is a master goldsmith and banker from Saint-Malo, who cedes it a few years later to a corsair seaman become shipowner, Robert Surcouf de Maisonneuve. It then passes through several hands, until its acquisition about fifteen years ago by its current owners. This former country holiday home is similar to malouinières of which it possesses certain recurring characteristics, without however adopting the regularity of plan and the ordonnance of facades which will soon be imposed in this corpus of buildings.
